I’m obsessed with Life Hacks. I have this (maybe compulsive) need to know more. I guess I think that the more I know, the better prepared I will be for life in general. I hate doing something for years and years, only to find out much later that there was an easier way to do it. Like Hack #5. Why didn’t I know this? This would have saved me hours of time! Hours!!!!

Life, work, kids, home. Repeat. The constant juggling can wear you down. Some days it may feel like you need more hours in the day to get through everything on your to do list. Thing is … I’m not sure working harder is the answer. I think that as Moms, we need to work a little smarter, not harder.
It’s OK to cut corners where you can. Streamline the mundane jobs & automate wherever possible. Then there’s those little life hacks you pick up along the way that you just wanna kick yourself for not knowing sooner. Spend the next 30 seconds scanning these ‘Why didn’t I think of that Life Hacks” and I promise you that you will be wiser, wilier and a little more on top of this Mom Gig.

1. Toothbrush Organisation Hack
Still wondering why I never thought of this! I’m forever stressing over the ‘Who used My Toothbrush?’ issue. I got so sick of finding my toothbrush wet before I’d used it, that I even got us all different colors. How hard can it be to check the color before brushing. This Organisational Hack from Little Penelope Lane is brilliantly simple and could solve my toothbrush problem once and for all. Popping a cutlery divider into the drawer to keep all of the toothbrushes separate (because nobody likes to have their toothbrush too close to another) … and if you have a member of the family who is not as particular with their toothbrush, then write names in each compartment so it’s super clear whose toothbrush is whose.
2. Use a Magnet to attach a flashlight to your Electrical Box
Duh! Of course! You can get these little stick on magnets which transform just about anything into a magnet. I’m feeling smarter already.
For this project, you’re going to need:

3. Magnetic Spice Racks
Since you’ve got the sticky magnets out – you might as well DIY yourself to a new spice rack too (source). Pop a couple of sticky magnets on to some plastic spice baskets and stick them to that empty side of the refrigerator.

4. Toddler in a Box
Need to buy yourself a couple minutes? Try this super smart idea I found on Pinterest. Pop the toddler and crayons in a cardboard box. This little trick would have changed many of my mornings when my kids were little.
5. Tin Foil Paint Trick
Oh my gosh! I could have used this little trick from Life Love DIY over the weekend and saved at least an hour of clean up. I will never, ever have to wash another paint tray again!
6. Reusable Dust Socks
You know that odd sock thing. Well, this hack doesn’t explain how there is always a leftover sock after every wash but at least you now you have a hack that makes good use of the leftover socks. Use them as Reusable Dust Socks (source). Pop them over your swift mop and wide walls, ceilings or floors. You will never have to by swifter cloths again!!!
