Ingredients
1¼CupsFlour I used white spelt flour
¼CupButter Softened to room temperature
1EggBeaten
3½tbspMaple syrup100% pure
¼CupCocoa
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl add the maple syrup and softened butter and combine. Try not to over mix here
Gently add the egg until just combined
Add the flour and cocoa and stir to combine until a smooth dough forms. Wrap the dough in food wrap and chill in the fridge for at least an hour
After an hour.....Heat your oven to 190c or 375f depending on your oven and line a large baking tray with parchment paper
Flour your work surface and roll out your dough to about ¼ inch thickness. Then cut out your biscuits and place them onto the baking tray. Re-roll any scrap dough to make more biscuits. If the dough gets too warm you can wrap it back up and pop it back in the fridge to cool and bake another batch later
Bake your biscuits for about 10-12 minutes. The times depends on your biscuit thickness and size. Keep an eye on them!
