Why Keeping Tidy is so Hard
A few years ago I discovered the secret to keeping our home clean. And it had nothing to do with tidying more. In fact it had everything to do with tidying less.
The simple secret to a clean home is this: The less you have to keep clean, pack away or pick up, the easier it is to keep your home tidy.
You Don’t need all the Stuff
When he moved to New Zealand in 2015, we had to seriously downsize. We had a really limited budget, so only our most treasured belongings came with us. We were ruthless, and at the time it felt hard. But now, I couldn’t even tell you what I left behind.
The ‘stuff’ we surround ourselves with can be a major reason for the overwhelm we feel. Cupboards stuffed to the brim, drawers so full they don’t close, too many toys, too many clothes.
200 Things to Throw Away
This Declutter challenge is designed to get you started. It’s small enough to do over a weekend, but big enough to make an impact in your home.
