Smoothies are a Moms secret weapon. It’s how I get my fussy kids to eat spinach. And nuts. And seeds, and ugly fruit. It’s a way to sneak a few extra serves of vitamins and nutrients into your child’s diet without the fuss and drama.
These four kid friendly smoothies are super easy to make and use ingredients you can keep in your pantry or freezer so you can whip them up anytime.
We all do it. Sneak those veggies in their food, that is. Smoothies are a way to do it without the judgement. The trick to making a great smoothie is to keep them simple. You don’t have to throw the entire pantry or fridge contents into the one smoothie.
Fast Breakfast Option for School Days
Dragging kids to school in the morning is an underappreciated super power. If you get them to that bus stop on time AND feed them breakfast. Then you are winning the Mom Game!

For those of us who often need to pick one or the other, Smoothies are a Godsend.
I bought each of my kids a travel mug from Kmart and it’s a game changer. On those mornings (aka every Monday, most Tuesdays, some Wednesdays), They make smoothies and pop them in their mugs. They either drink them on the way to school (my boys) or keep them for the bus trip (my girls). I used to use my family sized blender, but as kids got a little bigger, they all wanted different ingredients in their smoothie. So I got a smaller Ninja blender (the travel sized one) and now they all make their own in the morning.
If you follow my Clean Eating Meal Plans, you’ll see smoothies are a regular weekday breakfast. And why not?
- They take 30 seconds to make
