Just like a chocolate shake. Except it’s healthy.

We’ve been making a whole lot of smoothies lately. My youngest son mastered the blender over the holidays and it’s been working overtime these last two weeks. Since he’s been hanging around the kitchen with me, he’s been the chosen guinea pig for my smoothie testing recipes. Which is great because he’s the only one of my children who eats anything.

Once it’s passed his not too selective taste test, I cautiously serve it up to my two fussy kids. That’s the real {will this make the blog} test.

If they wolf it down without a fuss, then I know I’m on to a winner.

But let’s be honest, chocolate recipes normally pass the fussy kid test without a hitch. This Chocolate Smoothie Recipe is no exception.

It’s actually so good I served it up as dessert and the family loved it.

Freeze your Ripe Bananas

Most of the smoothies I make for the kids breakfast contain bananas as a base. The more ripe they are, the sweeter your smoothie will be. So taste it before adding extra honey or sweetener.

I buy bananas in huge amounts. When they are on special, it’s like Christmas round here. I peel, chop and freeze them so that I always have them on hand for morning smoothies.
