We’ve been making a whole lot of smoothies lately. My youngest son mastered the blender over the holidays and it’s been working overtime these last two weeks. Since he’s been hanging around the kitchen with me, he’s been the chosen guinea pig for my smoothie testing recipes. Which is great because he’s the only one of my children who eats anything.

Freeze your Ripe Bananas
Most of the smoothies I make for the kids breakfast contain bananas as a base. The more ripe they are, the sweeter your smoothie will be. So taste it before adding extra honey or sweetener.
I buy bananas in huge amounts. When they are on special, it’s like Christmas round here. I peel, chop and freeze them so that I always have them on hand for morning smoothies.

Clean Eating Chocolate Shake
Ingredients
- 1 large Ripe Banana the riper the better
- 1 Cup Almond milk or milk or your choice
- 2 Tablespoons Cocoa
- 1 Tablespoons Peanut Butter or Almond Butter
- 1/4 Cup ice
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to the blender.
- Blend together until smooth.
