We are eating through our pantry like locusts during this Lockdown. My covid19 stockpiled pantry, coupled with a cold weather spell and the little issue of living in my ’round the home leggings’ means that I am getting a little chunky round the middle.
Too much of a good thing is still too much. OK, in all honesty, it’s not the ‘good stuff’ causing the problem. I have eaten quite a bit more home baking than I usually would (um. specifically, cinnamon buns). The kids have overun the kitchen and are having a blast playing mini-Masterchef.
And of course, I have to taste test. It’s my Mom duty and I will oblige.
Since turning 40, I’ve noticed a HUGE shift in how much food I can consume. Gone are the days that I would simply eat Clean to keep in shape. Now I have to work at it. I’ve been more aware of my portions and also upped my activity level over the past few years.
Thing is – I really love my food. And I love chocolate. So making sure that I have some delicious, healthy snack options on hand definietly helps me to feel as if I’m not depriving myself.
I’ve been making chocolate yogurt for years. It’s a great after dinner snack or a sneaky day time treat. Its high in protein and leaves you feeling full and satisfied so you’re not craving sweet treats.

Clean Eating Chocolate Yogurt
- 2/3 cup Greek Yogurt
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp cocoa powder
- Mix all ingredients together until smooth.
